My name is Samario Valasse-Paul and I am a 22 year old Junior Plumber/Mechanic. I chose to pursue plumbing because of its importance to our every day life. It is a well-respected trade world-wide, and I am honoured to be a part it. Our mission is supply the community with safe and clean water, while also being able to dispose of wastes from homes and offices.
I work with many tools that enable me to perform tasks such as installations or removal of applications, but first I had to learn how to handle these tools in a safe manner. Urban Construction Services (UCS) provided me with an NCCER program outlining the basic safety rules and regulations that I needed to know before stepping onto an active working site. This gave me an advantage moving forward into plumbing because I already knew what most tools were, what they did and how to safely handle them.

This nccer program was a good decision. I am enjoying my current experience with the program as I’ve learned a lot so far. It’s been very rewarding as I was able to work while doing the program and plenty of other opportunities opened up due to the people I met, qualifications and experience I received while on the job.
